LISTEN UP … SHE SAID WHAT?? | EATING DISORDERS AND MEDIA
I truly believe that sometimes we lose track of who we really admire in life and why. We get so caught up in the goings on of who “wore it best”, “who weighs what”, “who just got a new Burberry Bag”, or “who just snagged, and shagged” the latest hottie pants of the week. When was the […]

I truly believe that sometimes we lose track of who we really admire in life and why.
We get so caught up in the goings on of who “wore it best”, “who weighs what”, “who just got a new Burberry Bag”, or “who just snagged, and shagged” the latest hottie pants of the week.
When was the last time, and I ‘m sorry, but any of these women actually spoke any words of wisdom, or something that really made you laugh, cry, or inspire you to really make a change within your own life?
I have a stack full of magazines chalk full of beautiful, unrealistically thin, airbrushed, and photo shopped starlets sporting expensive things. But none of them are saying anything worth a dime.
Eating disorders and media seem to go hand in hand. I think it’s time we starting seeing more magazines that have women on the cover who represent what women really look like and what they stand for.
I would love to see “Michelle Obama”or “Maya Angelou” in an article entitled “who said it best”.
I want to see articles about woman who do research in Antarctica, or a female brain surgeon in Brazil.
I want to hear what “Candice Parks”, one of the brightest players from the WNBA has to say about things.
Anyway, I doubt we will see that happening very soon, but I encourage you to look past the bedazzled bullshit, and open your eyes and your minds to so many brilliant, inspiring women out there who do make a difference in this thing we call life, and who have something pretty “Fabulous” to say about it.
Get in touch with your inner ”Margaret Thatcher, Jackie Kennedy, or Aretha Franklin” once in awhile.
These women are the real Goddesses!
Have fun with these! Solemn or Sassy woman always have something to say!
Success is often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable.
-Coco Chanel
If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.
-Maya Angelou
Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. This is your moment. Own it.
Oprah Winfrey
I didn’t discover curves; I only uncovered them.
Mae West
If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
Mother Theresa
For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
Audrey Hepburn
