Housewife Celebrity Alexis Ballino Talks Battling Both Anorexia & Bulimia

Recently, reality star Alexis Bellino opened up for the first time about her life-long battle with food. The Real Housewives of Orange County personality has admitted that she has struggled with eating disorders since she was 12 years old, battling both anorexia and bulimia. And while the 34-year-old mother of three says she is in a much better place right now, she confesses she still struggles with eating issues – and believes she always will. Obesity Surgery for Teens is Not a Viable Long Term Solution

More and more young people, who are obese and often suffering from serious health complications, are undergoing operations to help them lose weight. Bariatric surgery, simply referred to as weight loss surgery, is being recommend to teens at an alarming rate.  While fewer than 1,000 teens have the surgery in the U.S. each year (versus 200,000 to 250,000 adults), it is becoming more common among adolescents as obesity rates continue to rise.
