My Sister Has Finally Come Out About Her Eating Disorder And Would Like To Get Help, But Only Wants Me To Know. I Am Trying To Find Help For Her But I Do Not Know Exactly How To Go About It. She Does Not Have Insurance And Does Not Have The Money For It.

I’m Glad That Your Sister Is

I’m glad that your sister is reaching out to you, and willing to seek help. The financial issue is a frustrating one. I suggest that she first talk to her doctor and ask for a referral to a specialist who treats eating disorders, and then check out some of the resources on this site. Some treatment centers are more affordable than others. You might call Columbia Univesity about their research trials. They often take people and offer them free treatment to be involved in a study. Good luck, and thank you for being a support to your sister!
