Fashion For EveryBODY
Know someone who is comfortable in their own skin and makes a difference in the world? Today is last day to nominate a ROLE MODEL to rock the runway in Fashion for EveryBODY 2010!

EDCT now accepting ROLE Model nominations
Chances are you know some pretty fabulous people. Don’t they deserve a moment in the spotlight?
Nominate them to be a ROLE Model at the Seventh-Annual Fashion for EveryBODY, a New York-style fashion show that celebrates real beauty in real-sized models. All selected ROLE Models will rock the runway — pampered by expert stylists and outfitted in chic holiday styles donated by local retailers — on Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Commodore Ballroom in Nashville. ROLE Models will share the stage with special guests, including Emcee Shane Tallant, co-host of “Tennessee Mornings” on FOX. All proceeds from the event will benefit Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee, the Southeast’s only statewide nonprofit that targets eating disorder awareness, prevention and education.
Who can you nominate?
Friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, mentors — even yourself. Last year, more than 200 nominations rolled in from across Tennessee, as well as from Connecticut, North Carolina and Canada. Nominations are open to men and women over the age of 21. Click here for a complete list of guidelines.
Are there participation requirements?
Few events compare to Fashion for EveryBODY. Its emphasis on real beauty in real-sized models makes it a memorable event. Past ROLE Model and “Talk of the Town” producer-reporter Tuwanda Coleman even called it “the highlight” of her year. Other ROLE Models have said it is “truly gratifying.” We consider our ROLE Models to be our partners, not only for Fashion for EveryBODY, but also in furthering our mission.
Like other nonprofits that rely on events to help support their programs, EDCT requires each ROLE Model to raise a minimum of $500 in sponsorships — $250 of which can come as an in-kind donation for the evening’s silent auction. (BTW, if you’re short on ideas for raising money, start here.) Finally, we want everyone to be as informed as possible, so please read the full list of requirements here. When is the deadline?
The nomination process runs from June 30 – Aug. 24, 2010. (All nominations must be received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 24.) Selected ROLE Models will be notified the week of Sept. 7-11 and will have until Oct. 22 to reach their sponsorship goal (a minimum of $500 — see above for details).
