Kate Moss: ‘I’m Not Anorexic’
Supermodel Kate Moss has experienced her fair share of hurtful tabloid rumors.
But according to the 39-year-old, the most irritating ones have to do with anorexia.
Moss recently spoke with Allure magazine, opening up about her early ’90s fame, her attitude about the paparazzi and her fashionista daughter Lila.
Heroin chic
Moss is famous for her “heroin chic” look, which includes her signature smoky eye makeup. Yet the star said that rumors about her having a drug addiction – in addition to an eating disorder – were some of the hardest ones to handle.
“It was horrible, especially the anorexic thing,” she told Allure. “The heroin, I was like, ‘Oh, it’s just ridiculous, I don’t do heroin. Just because I wear a bit of black eyeliner that’s smudged…’ But the anorexic thing was a lot more upsetting, to be held responsible for somebody’s illness. I wasn’t anorexic.”
All about appearances
And though she may not be anorexic, Moss admits to being concerned about her appearance, both on and off the set of a fashion shoot. She said she hates being photographed when she’s not working, she always likes to have clean hair and she does her best to avoid tan lines.
Moss said that her 10-year-old daughter Lila is her main priority these days, and that her mini-me apparently wants to follow in her mother’s footsteps.
“She’s watched ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ 10 times, and she’s got a desk in her room with a phone … She puts a little outfit on and picks up the phone: ‘Hello, Miranda Priestly’s office.'”
More of Moss’ interview can be found in the August issue of Allure, on sale July 23.
