Angelina Jolie’s Weight Under Fire After Thin Appearance At BAFTA Awards

After Angelina Jolie showed up looking fairly skinny at the 2014 BAFTA awards ceremony in London, many people have expressed concern about her frail appearance.

The actress, 38, was dressed in a slim-cut tuxedo suit that seemed to accentuate her slender legs and frame.

“Everyone is talking about how great Angelina Jolie looks, but to me she’s too skinny,” tweeted one fan.

Another said, “She’s gorgeous, but so very painfully thin,” reports Examiner.

Jolie acknowledges her weight

Jolie has previously admitted that she’s not happy being so thin, but she blames her hectic schedule and mom status for her weight.

“I am too thin,” she said. “I don’t like that I’m that thin. If I could snap my fingers tomorrow and put on 15 pounds, I’d be so happy if it went in the right places.”

A year ago, Jolie underwent a preemptive double mastectomy after being told she had an 87 percent chance of developing breast cancer. Angelina’s mother, grandmother, and several other relatives have died of cancer, which prompted the actress to take preventative health measures.

Jolie says weight is result of lifestyle choices

Jolie also said that her weight is the result of eating healthfully and exercising, and that these choices will enable her to live longer and “age gracefully.”

“I lost my mother not so long ago and there is something about the years passing where you really appreciate life more each day,” she said. “It becomes important for you to stay healthy and age gracefully. I want to see my grandkids. I want to see my children grown and spend the years with Brad.”
