Paying For Ed Treatment, Pt 2
Continuing on with yesterday’s theme of getting help to pay for eating disorder treatment, I am still researching and have a few more resources:
Milestones in Recovery Treatment Center
As many individuals seeking treatment at Milestones may have limited coverage for residential treatment, or in some instances no coverage at all, reduced fees are offered that limits someone’s financial responsibility during their stay at Milestones. Generally speaking, this “cap” represents a significant discount from the typical fee billed insurances and makes treatment at Milestones more affordable to those who would not otherwise be able to participate.

Renfrew Center Foundation
A non-profit organization associated with the Renfrew treatment centers spread across the US, ask for more information on their contact us page.

Eating Disorder Referral and Information Center
The Eating Disorder Referral and Information Center provides limited scholarships to help obtain treatment from a competent psychotherapist who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders. Right this minute, they don’t have funds available, but bookmark the site so you can apply when they do.

Mercy Ministries
Often placed on lists of eating disorder low cost support resources, I cannot in good conscience recommend this organization because of the recent controversy surrounding the center. Former Australian residents claim the organization has made false claims about its services, and that instead of receiving counseling from qualified professionals, they were placed in the care of Bible studies students who treated them with techniques including exorcisms and prayer readings. Later articles also alleged that clients had been expelled without warning, follow-up or support.
