Whn looking at Overeating Symptom, a person will typically display the following behavior: frequent episodes of uncontrolled eating, or bingeing, during which the person may not feel “in control” or in command of their own actions. The person may eat rapidly and take more bites per minute than is normal The person can even continue to eat past the point of feeling uncomfortably full and bloated.

Compulsive overeaters will often eat when they are not necessarily hungry. The person will also spend excessive amounts of time, thought, and preparations devoted to food or times for eating, and even secretly plan or fantasize about eating alone. Compulsive overeating frequently leads to weight gain and obesity.

Compulsive overeaters also practice “grazing behavior” or picking and slowly consuming a meal or large snack bit by bit hroughout the day. This practice results in a large number of calories consumed despite the low quantitiy of calories eaten during any specific duration.

When a compulsive overeater overeats primarily through bingeing, he or she is practicing binge eating disorder. When a continuous pattern of overeating absent of binging is observed, then the sufferer has Compulsive Overeating Disorder.
