Women Are More Prone To Night Eating Syndrome Than Men Are
MEDICAL experts said based on study more women especially the youth are affected by night eating syndrome or parasomia than men did.
Parasomia, which affects all people in this planet, consists of those persons who still ate even when they are already sleeping.
The people who ate while sleeping are also not aware of what they are doing and would just be surprised upon waking to see traces of the food they ate the night before.
A study revealed that persons with this disorder typically wake up between one and four times each night and snack on about 300 calories worth of food.
Based on estimate, some 1.5% of the population has night eating syndrome but the condition has been found in up to 15% of the people who are obese. In non-obese night eaters, this syndrome leads to weight gain and obesity after a while.
