Ralph Lauren’s New Model Pics: A Waist Smaller Than Her Head
It’s not a new scandal – for years, folks have complained about magazine covers and ads with photographs of women that have been altered, or “retouched,” by airbrushing and photo editing software such as Photoshop. The latest such image to cause an uproar is one featured in a new Ralph Lauren advertisement that shows an emaciated model, Filippa Hamilton in a bizarre photo with her wasit looking impossibly small.
A boycott was launched just last week. Lauren’s minions freaked, forcing him to make a public apology, noting, in part: “we have learned that we are responsible for the poor imaging and retouching that resulted in a very distorted image of a woman’s body. We have addressed the problem and going forward will take every precaution to ensure that the caliber of our artwork represents our brand appropriately.”
Discussions have started on blogs like this one:

And even better, the largest easting disorder organization in the world (www.anad.org) has joined forces, too.
