Eating Disorder Treatment Centers
The treatment needs of each individual will vary. There is a cohesive balance between group and individual therapy. Residents have approximately 5 to 7 weekly individual sessions with their primary therapist, dietitian, clinical director and psychiatrist, in addition to close to 20 hours of group therapy, plus expressive arts, yoga and movement, physical training, and therapeutic outings.
The major drawback with eating disorder treatment centers is the cost. The programs are often effective, the staff professional, and the setting is often beautiful. However, daily costs for a stay at an eating disorder treatment center can average $1,000. Rarely will health insurance cover much of the stay. However, do not assume you aren’t covered. Contact your insurance company and inquire what the benefits are for: “Residential, mental health, non-substance abuse.” Also ask for the same benefit information for “partial hospital” and “intensive outpatient”
A listing here does not necessarily mean Eating Disorders Online endorses the Eating Disorders treatment facility or practice. What works for one person, may not work for another. We simply want to offer options to you.
