Alyssa Milano Responds To Jay Mohr’s Fat-Shaming Comments

Female celebrities have to put up with a lot of scrutiny about their physical appearances.

And when they have babies, they’re expected to bounce back right away with a toned tummy and zero ounces of residual fat.

What makes this worse? When men decide to fat-shame them for having imperfect post-baby bodies.

Mohr’s insensitive comments

During the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, comedian and actor Jay Mohr layed into actress and mother Alyssa Milano, making nasty comments about her body during a radio interview.

“She was one of the presenters… She’s very tiny,” he said of Milano. “It seems like she had a baby and said, ‘I don’t really give a s**t’ … I read it on her gut… Somebody sat in the director’s chair and was not wearing Spanx and I was like, ‘Jesus Christ.'”

As a father of a two-year-old daughter, many people have attacked Mohr for making such sexist, insensitive comments.

“I wonder how Jay would feel if someone someday called his daughter fat? Does he really want her dating a guy like him?” wrote Kiri Blakeley from The Stir.

Milano: a class act

While Mohr hasn’t officially apologized (despite load of media scrutiny for his actions), Milano warmed the hearts of angry women everywhere when she responded to Mohr’s comments with a class-act message on Twitter:

“So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife.”

After a few days, Mohr finally responded on Twitter, claiming that his comments were meant to be a joke.

“She’s stunning. I mistakenly thought the absurdity of what I was saying would have been taken as a joke. #fail”
