Some people feel that hurting their bodies by starving or overeating is a way of coping with the stress they deal with around their home. Another way that there can be a personal problem could be through marriage problem. There may be a husband who constantly pushes his wife to lose weight and maybe she will look prettier. It can also be in the reverse as well. The seriousness of these personal causes can be severe.
